Durante l'attesissimo Halftime Show del Superbowl, tra gli eventi televisivi più visti dell'anno con una media superiore ai 120 milioni di spettatori, il rapper nativo di Compton Kendrick Lamar ha guardato la telecamera rappando: "Dì, Drake, ho sentito che ti piacciono giovani".
Forse per evitare azioni legali - la Federal Communications Commission vieta “contenuti osceni, indecenti e profani” - non ha pronunciato la fatidica frase "pedofilo certificato" che ha fatto la fortuna del suo più che irrispettoso diss rap "Not Like Us", la canzone più premiata nella storia dei Grammy Awards: Disco dell'anno, Canzone dell'anno, Miglior performance rap, Miglior canzone rap e Miglior video musicale.
"Not Like Us" ha battuto diversi record sulla piattaforma di streaming Spotify, è il quarto numero uno di Lamar nella Billboard Hot 100 e anche la canzone numero uno più longeva nelle classifiche Hot Rap Songs e Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
Il destinatario del rap di Lamar, il cantante e rapper canadese Drake, suo compagno di etichetta, a gennaio ha avviato una causa contro la Universal Music Group per diffamazione, chiedendo un risarcimento danni.

La faida tra Drake e Lamar, sebbene in corso da molto tempo dagli anni 2010, ha raggiunto nuovi livelli il 3 maggio 2024.
Drake pubblica il diss rap "Family Matters" in cui accusa Lamar di violenza domestica contro la compagna di lunga data Whitney Alford, di infedeltà con donne bianche e afferma che uno dei figli di Lamar è in realtà figlio del suo socio in affari, Dave Free.
Meno di un'ora dopo, Lamar pubblica la risposta: "Meet the Grahams".
Scritto sotto forma di lettera, con ogni verso indirizzato ai membri della famiglia di Drake, incluso suo figlio Adonis, i suoi genitori Sandra e Dennis Graham, la sua presunta figlia, e lo stesso Drake, il rap accusa Drake di essere un padre assente, di aver ingaggiato autori di reati sessuali per la sua etichetta discografica OVO Sound e di essere lui stesso un predatore sessuale paragonandolo a Harvey Weinstein.
Afferma inoltre che Drake gestisce un giro di traffico sessuale fuori dalla sua villa di Toronto, "The Embassy", dicendo che sarà presto perquisita dalle forze dell'ordine, con riferimento a quello che sta nel frattempo accadendo a Sean Diddy Combs, accusato di abusi e traffici sessuali.

In "Not Like Us" Lamar raddoppia le accuse di pedofilia e cattiva condotta sessuale di Drake, criticando anche la sua identità culturale e i rapporti con artisti con sede ad Atlanta, Georgia.
La copertina del singolo mostra una veduta dall'alto della villa di Drake a Toronto da uno screenshot di Google Maps con 13 indicatori rossi posizionati sul tetto, a simboleggiare la presenza di autori di reati sessuali registrati.
Lamar usa l'album di Drake "Certified Lover Boy", del 2021, per etichettare lui e la sua troupe OVO come "pedofili certificati".
Obiettivi specifici sono Chubbs, il suo capo della sicurezza; PartyNextDoor, il primo artista che ha firmato per la OVO; e Baka Not Nice, accusato di sei reati di traffico sessuale nel 2014.
Usando varie metafore e allusioni, Lamar dà vita ad una raffica di attacchi contro il presunto comportamento sessuale inappropriato di Drake con minori, accusandolo anche di avere una "figlia segreta".

Il 5 maggio 2024 rilascia il diss rap di risposta “The Heart Part 6”, negando esplicitamente di avere rapporti sessuali con la star di "Stranger Things" Millie Bobby Brown – con cui ha stretto amicizia molto prima che l’attrice compisse 18 anni nel 2022.
Drake accusa Lamar di seminare bugie su Internet, nega di avere una figlia nascosta, sostenendo di aver "fornito" a Lamar false informazioni tramite i suoi rap.
Drake suggerisce che Lamar gli stia lanciando le accuse di essere un predatore sessuale come un modo per elaborare e proiettare il proprio trauma di presunti abusi subiti da bambino.

Evan Chandler, dentista e sceneggiatore con sede a Los Angeles, accusa Jackson di aver abusato sessualmente di suo figlio tredicenne, Jordan Chandler. Jackson aveva stretto amicizia con Jordan dopo aver noleggiato un veicolo dal patrigno di Jordan.
